What's the best/cheapest way to get from Georgia to California and back?
I would love to have some sort of road trip planning website that had every travel option on it, but I'm willing to piece together information from various websites and formulate my own model.
The task at hand: get from Georgia to California as cheaply as possible without getting tuberculosis/etc.
I'm considering planes, trains, and buses [other options?]. I cannot drive my car across country because it's too old and I don't want to drive and have to deal with hotels. I would however be interested in shipping my car across country if that was a viable option [read: cheaper than renting one on the other side].

If you just want to go via planes, I've had the most luck with priceline and kayak. They've consistently have given me the best prices. If you want to make it fun, then it might be expensive this way unless you're willing to drive without sleep for 40 hours, which is impossible. You can probably do it in two days if you're really dedicated (although it might be a little unsafe), but one of my friends has done this. Typically when i drive from atlanta to california, I tend to take a few days to do it (5 at least). That way, you'll be driving around 8 hours a day.
