What bike accessories do I need to get started?
I'm about to buy a commuter/hybrid bike for work. What do I need to get started? Here's what I currently think I need:
1. helmet
2. light
3. spare
4. pump
Does it make sense to carry 3 & 4 with me all the time? Do I need anything else? What do you guys recommend?

Fenders - especially for the winter!
Also for winter, if you live somewhere cold, consider studded tires

#2 should be 'lights', white in front, red in the rear. If you want to be hardcore, get a reflective vest.
Get the store to put on a rack. You'll eventually need it anyway.

Cool, thanks. I'm also considering clipless pedals, but not sure if those are worth of right now. A rack will be a must now that my car is going to the salvage yard. I'd also like to get something that keeps my distance and speed, but that's a totally different story. Hopefully I can get something cheap for that.
