Actually, I think that if the whole intro sound byte of 'suuuuper mario gaaaaalaxy' when game first loads was removed, it'd make this far less cheesy! If you've played the game, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!
One of the drawbacks of nintendo games, or games in general, are having annoying loading and things that you have to endure. I can handle a bland "loading..." screen, but I cannot stand a game that tells me what i'm playing. It's like going to ci-ci's pizza and them screaming "welcome to ci-ci's!" every time. Really...I'm playing what now? So if you must have a load screen with cute stuff flying around and screaming come play me for a demo, at least let the customers skip it by any button press not just start, a, or a+b. Don't get me started on cut scenes that don't let you skip; although, those I can and haven't seen yet I cry if I can't go back and watch it if i'm in the mood. I also remember games that would load the startup screen only if there wasn't a save game or if you started a new game.
I think that Mario Party 8 is plagued with horrible sound bytes and cut scenes that make the game trite and takes away from the whole "let's play this game drunk for bragging rights." Even though I know the college crowd isn't nintendo's only market, they should try harder for having options for both crowds. Like a reverse v-chip. Something that takes all the cute crap out, and lets a grown person enjoy the game without fluff balls with big cute eyes squeaking at them.

I'm really really really liking the way it's playing out so far. I typically don't like video games like this (they're so cheesy), but this one has got me hooked. I can totally look past the cuteness factor of it all, and just really appreciate the fun gameplay. Shooting from little planet to little planet spinning and smashing up little enemies couldn't be more fun.
