Much faster than the si at a price that's just as much the same. You'll probably have more fun driving the mazdaspeed3 anytime.

3rd Gear Shifting Problems

Sometimes the 3rd gear in the honda civic si will grind in and even pop. Here is a discussion about this issue on edumonds. Honda has released a techincal bullitin to resolve the issue, but there is no official recall. more »

3rd gear grinds somewhat, but no pop out yet

Well, after getting the car I realize that sometimes the 3rd gear in the civic si is difficult to engage. If I'm really aware that i'm putting it in, sometimes I can feel like I get past the inital 'wall', and get in. But when I'm a little less careless, it starts to grind. Oh well, maybe it's time to go to use that warranty :) Luckily, it doesn't pop out, but I'm somewhat sad that I have an issue with a car that's not exactly super cheap.

So if you're interested in getting your gearing fixed at a honda dealership, make sure you point them to the TSB (techincal service bulletin).

Here is the bulletin for honda:

Here is the one for acura, for TL and RSX:
