No 3g, no go
I don't see myself getting this if there isn't 3g on it and I can't tether my macbook to the internet. With my motorola 3xx, I can use the media bundle for only 15 bucks and get internet on my laptop anywhere with a simple click of a button. Can I do that with an iphone? Nope. Oh well, maybe iphone v2.
I got one!
I bought one a week after my birthday party cause my RAZR died from getting wet.
So far I'm pretty happy, definitely a step up from the RAZR.
Only major grips is:
1) can't mass SMS
2) can't send MMS
3) can't cut and paste
4) maybe a little too wide, but at least it's thinner than the RAZR
5) No youtube without wireless
6) if no wireless, then internet really slow! AT&T EDGE is slowwwwwww
That's not to say that the iphone is bad. There's plenty of good things about it!
touch screen is nice, OS is pretty responsive (though crashes sometimes, especially with google maps and the web browser), ipod functionality is cool, I like the weathers and stock quotes, and calendar system
it was a pleasant surprise that I could sync my contacts and calendars with outlook through Itunes. Oh I forgot to add that I do not like itunes. Great, that's what I need, another organizational software on my machine. Ugh....
Who is going to replace their old iphone with the new 3g iphone?
Given what you know now (and eventually, when we find out for sure), do you think you'll end up switching to the new phone? I'm not sure yet if I'm convinced about the new 3g features, but the gps sounds really awesome. Anyone sold yet?
First impressions is that it sucks the money right out of you. I didn't realize you had to cancel ALL discounted phone plans just to use it. That is just EVIL. My phone plan is totally independent of the fact that I have an iphone... just stupid! But, the features have gotten to me. The fact that it's so useful, so slick, makes me overlook the fact that I'm paying a ridiculous amount of money every week. I don't yet have enough info to put in a review, but the device is looking pretty good so far...
