Ask for Advice

rafal asks.. "Where can I get that fake mongolian style meat?"

I went to the chinese buddha restaurant in atlanta, and I just loved their fake meat. Any idea what it could be? It's like a steak-like texture.. really amazing. It looks somewhat like the picture I uploaded, captioned 'Love sir fry fake meat'. Any ideas?

Chinese Buddha and Mongolian Beef

One of the things I miss the most about being a vegetarian is mongolian beef, sesame chicken, and chicken nuggets. Fortunately, the chinese buddah restaurant in atlanta on 10th street takes care of the first two. When I ordered the mongolian beef -- WOW, that's all I could say. It was almost better than real beef because it was so moist and flavorful!! This restaurant is pretty amazing when it comes to it's vegetarian meats. I really hope to figure out how they make that stuff, because I'd love to buy whatever it is they use so I could use it in my own cooking.

seitan -- "satan"?

From what I can gather I think the fake meat is seitan aka wheat meat:
