There are five main types of air purifiers, including HEPA, ozone, carbon, ionic and ultraviolet light; air purifiers are primarily categorized by filter type. Some air purifiers combine more than one type of filter for greater efficiency. You'll want to stick with HEPA combined with carbon or ultraviolet. But whatever you do, avoid those ionic ones because they just don't work!
