Being almost 300 dollars cheaper, you get most of the same good things, except you might have to upgrade to clipless pedals on those weekend trips.

For just a little bit more, you get a lot more bike. Carbon fiber fork, better wheels, and rear derailer.

It was a tough call to get the 7.5, but it seemed like just a little more for the better bike. The 7.5 has the better carbon fiber fork and wheels, plus the gray looks much better than the black. Worth it to me!
